Privacy policy
Your money records stay on your device.
This policy describes the planned Android launch edition of Pocket Money: local finance records, optional sign-in, banner ads and an optional ad-free subscription.
Review draft · Last updated 21 October 2026
Who operates Pocket Money
Pocket Money is currently developed by William Joel Mark. Privacy and deletion contact: joelwilliammark@gmail.com. The operator’s registered business identity will be added before publication.
Financial records and permissions
Accounts, transactions, budgets, goals, settings and imported bank-message data are processed and stored on your device. SMS access is optional and is used to find transaction and balance information. Manual entry remains available. Messages may need review or correction.
Optional notification access can identify supported payment alerts on your device. Camera or selected-image access is used when you choose receipt entry. Notification permission is used for reminders. These finance inputs are not supplied to AdMob or RevenueCat.
The launch edition does not automatically upload or synchronize your ledger, run remote AI on it, or connect directly to your bank. Device biometric checks are handled by Android; Pocket Money does not receive your fingerprint or face template.
Optional account sign-in
Firebase Authentication processes your email address, account identifier and sign-in information for email/password or Google sign-in. Authentication services also process security and connection information. When billing is enabled, your Firebase user identifier may identify your RevenueCat subscription. Signing in does not back up or merge your local finance records.
Advertising
The free Android edition is intended to show Google AdMob banner ads. Google’s ads SDK can process IP addresses (which may indicate approximate location), device or account identifiers, ad interactions and performance information to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud and maintain its services. Collection depends on consent, SDK configuration and applicable settings.
Where required, use Ad privacy choices in Settings to review your consent. An active ad-free entitlement stops Pocket Money from requesting banner ads. See Google’s privacy policy.
Ad-free subscription
Google Play processes payments. RevenueCat processes app-user identifiers, purchase records, purchase tokens and subscription status to validate access and restore purchases. Pocket Money does not receive your payment-card details. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy. Current price and renewal terms are shown by Google Play before purchase.
Backups, reports and support
You choose when to export records or a backup and where to save or share them. Copies outside Pocket Money remain under your control and the chosen provider’s policies. Support messages, descriptions and attachments are processed when you choose to send them. Redaction is not a guarantee: review the content before sharing.
Automatic remote diagnostics and session replay are disabled in the audited local launch build. If a direct feedback endpoint is enabled for the final release, its operator and retention details must be added to this policy before publication.
Retention and deletion
Local records remain until you delete them or remove the app’s data. Remove exported files and backups separately. Delete your sign-in account in the app or request deletion by email; ownership is verified before account-related deletion.
Provider payment, fraud-prevention or legally required records may be retained under the provider’s policies. We aim to acknowledge deletion requests within 7 days and complete verified requests within 30 days. Support correspondence is kept for 90 days after resolution, and minimal deletion-request records are kept for 12 months to record fulfillment. Associated RevenueCat data is handled through the provider’s deletion process; any exceptions for legal obligations, payment records, fraud prevention or dispute resolution will be explained.
Providers and international processing
Firebase, Google Play, AdMob and RevenueCat may process account, advertising or purchase information in countries outside Sri Lanka under their applicable terms and privacy policies. This does not grant them access to your local ledger. Do not include private finance data in support messages unless you deliberately choose to share it.
Updates and contact
We will update this policy when the release’s data handling changes. Contact joelwilliammark@gmail.com about privacy, access or deletion requests.
